Mr Brilliant
Mr Brilliant was once one of the worlds greatest heroes, that was until he became addicted to Cough Syrup & Menthol Cigarettes. He is now overweight, suffers from Angina and has a bad back. Few of his original powers, such as increased strength, agility and endurance remain. Although he has largely given up on his cough syrup addiction, he still struggles to keep ’sober’. Once upon a time, Mr Brilliant was widely regarded as the greatest superhero who ever lived. Mr Brilliant was loved the world over. After over a decade at the top, his career as a superhero slowly began to unravel after a series of disasters in his personal life. His cough syrup addiction caused his health to deteriorate drastically and led to him developing a number of health problems, including a slipped disk, and angina which forced him to retire. He disappeared from the public eye and went into hiding with his close friend Peter Hoffman.

The Birth Of A Billionaire Playboy
Ralph Foster made his fortune at a young age. When he was just 14 he set up a small business selling vegetables to local shops and restaurants. He grew the vegetables in his back garden and delivered his crops by hand, on the back of his trusty motorcycle. By the time he was sixteen he was selling produce to expensive restaurants throughout England and Scotland. At just seventeen he sold his business for £1million to a wealthy foreign business man. Rather than sitting back and enjoying his money, Foster invested the majority of his new found wealth into new business’. He appeared to have a natural ability for picking business’ that would go on to be a huge success. Within just three years he had turned his million pounds into over £40 million.

Foster, now 23 and worth an estimated £50 millionmade his most lucrative decision to date. Never being afraid to gamble his money, he invested every penny he owned into a series of new business ventures including an airport, film production company and scientific research labs in the USA. The gamble paid off as the business’ grew at an exponential rate. By the time Foster was 25 he owned an empire worth an estimated £400 million.

Fosters vast business empire ‘Foster Corp’,now stretched to all corners of the globe. Foster Corp quickly became a household name as each new venture was a bigger success than the last. With an empire that now included a television studio, publishing company, recording studios and even several diamond mines in South Africa, Ralph Foster was one of the world’s most powerful business men.

Foster lived in a £30 million mansion, boasting tennis courts, a high-tech gym, two swimming pools and a garage housing his collection of over 100 classic cars and motorcycles. The multi-million pound estate was located in a 70 acre plot in the Lake District, UK. The huge estate was custom built for Foster and had several miles of in underground passageways and rooms. This was the original base for Mr Brilliant. After Foster’s fall from grace he had the underground network filled in with concrete, to prevent anyone discovering his secret.

The Women In Foster’s Life
Ralph Foster was regularly voted in the World’s Top Ten Bachelors list compiled by the popular gossip magazine ‘Celebrity Shame’. He dated some of the worlds most beautiful women and famously had passionate relationships with model and actress Pamela Sanderson, super star singing sensation Britianna Spurs and adult film star Lelani Verentikov. He is thought to have split from each after the media focus on his private life became too much for him. Faster was famously shy of the press and was keen to keep out of the spotlight.

The only woman to really capture Foster’s heart was his on-off girlfriend Kaisha Santanna (pictured left accompanying Foster to the Billionaire of The Year Awards). Santanna was voted one of the worlds most beautiful women by the popular magazine Celebrity Shame, before her mysterious disappearance. After Santanna went missing, Foster was suspected of her murder. Although cleared of any crime, his reputation was severely damaged. He plunged into a downward spiral of drugs, alcohol and depression and withdrew completely from the public gaze as his addictions overwhelmed his life.

Loyal Friends And Assistants
Foster let very few people get close to him. Afraid that someone would discover his secret identity, he kept most aspects of his personal life secret and only shared his feelings with a close group of friends. His loyal assistant, Peter Hoffman stayed with Foster and helped to keep his secret life as Mr Brilliant under cover, while acting as a butler and secretary.

Foster first met Hoffman at school and the two quickly became friends. When Foster left school at sixteen to run his growing business empire full time, Hoffman followed. The day-to-day running of Fosters home and personal affairs were all handled by Hoffman, in return for a healthy salary and a luxury home on the Foster estate. Hoffman, who is still Fosters closest friend, would later become Bats-Man, when he was invited to assist the newly formed League Of Really Bad Superheroes.

An elderly Spanish man known only as Mr Chivas also assisted the billionaire on a number of occasions. Chivas was a former agent for the US government. He had retired to the UK over a decade prior to meeting Foster and embarked on a life of crime. Chivas quickly became one of the most wanted thieves in Europe, although nobody actually discovered his identity. Fluent in over a dozen languages Chivas passed his knowledge onto Foster and taught him everything he knew about lock picking, safe cracking, explosives and small arms. Despite agreeing to retire from his life of crime (after Foster insisted on it) Chivas went for one last great heist. He was shot dead by police after they caught him trying to steal a valuable museum artifact, worth several million pounds.

Kaisha Santanna, Fosters long term, on-off girlfriend also knew the billionaires secret identity. She was an intelligent woman who could easily charm any man and was often included in Mr Brilliants efforts to defeat evil. Despite a lack of any evidence Foster still believes that Santanna’s disappearance was somehow linked to his life as a superhero.

Brilliant Boy, A Loyal & Trusted Companion
Over his career as a superhero Mr Brilliant was sometimes assisted by Brilliant Boy, his young sidekick. The exact number of people who inhabited the Brilliant Boy persona is unknown (thought to be at least four), but the first was Roland Creed, who was later asked to join the LORBS and became the superhero Creampuff.

Another individual to don the costume of Brilliant Boy was Greg Drake, a young and energetic boy from Norwich, UK. A talented athlete, Drake was just 15 when Mr Brilliant took him on as his assistant. Despite Mr Brilliant’s reluctance, he was desperate at the time, having sustained severe injuries fighting the villain known as ‘Aligor’. Mr Brilliant asked Drake to assist him in gathering information but insisted that he remain well away from any danger. Drake, young and foolish disobeyed the orders in an effort to impress the wounded superhero. He was captured by Aligor and tortured, before being brutally killed. The twisted villain kept the boy prisoner for several weeks, forcing him to give up Mr Brilliant true identity, before sending his lifeless body to Foster’s home.

The Fall Of A Billionaire Superhero
Things started to go wrong for Mr Brilliant/Foster after he came down with Tonsillitis and began taking cough syrup. He quickly acquired a taste for the medicine and became heavily addicted after his beautiful girlfriend Kaisha Santanna went missing. For a short time Foster was suspected of her murder and ‘hit the bottle’ in a big way. At his worst he would drink as many as ten bottles of cough syrup a day. He began smoking menthol cigarettes, believing that the smell would cover the sickly sweet stench of the syrup.

Despite many efforts to shake his addiction, he kept on going back to the destructive lifestyle. He lost all interest in his business and spent millions of pounds on his own cough syrup plant. From there his addiction spiraled out of control. He gained weight and developed angina. His once super human powers diminished and he became weaker and more ill every day. His loyal assistant Hoffman joined him and together they drank their way through bottle after bottle of cough syrup and home-brewed gin.

Ralph Foster was declared bankrupt just 4 years after his addiction began. He had managed to bring a half billion pound business to it’s knees, and had lost everything. He moved with Hoffman to a small house in his hometown of Hull, UK and effectively retired. With a clever bit of for-thought he transferred the rights to his cough syrup plant to Hoffman, so it was not seized by the tax-man.
