Powers/Skills: Has over 4 decades of military experience.  A brilliant military mind, he is well respected within the armed forces and amongst government agencies. He is a weapons expert and despite his age he is a dangerous hand-to-hand fighter.

Weaknesses: He is getting on a bit. Although his exact age is uncertain, he is thought to be around 70. While he is extremely strong and fit for his age, he suffers from a lifetime of aches and pains.

Other Info: Col. Rench heads the covert military organization known as The True Guard (TTG), responsible for founding the LORBS. While the members of the LORBS report to Mr Brilliant, Mr Brilliant himself reports to Col. Rench.

Richard Rench was born into a military family. His father and grandfather were both highly respected military leaders in the UK armed forces, each serving for over 3o years. After enlisting on his 16th birthday, Rench quickly made his way up through the ranks. He fought in several conflicts for the British forces, before being asked to head up a new division designed to offer support for the Earths superheroes.

After the ‘Goolon Conflict’ where all of the worlds superheroes were tragically killed, Rench was put in charge of The True Guard. He was instructed by the Earths leaders to put a strategy in place for a Global Defence System. He is the man who set up the LORBS, and first contacted Mr Brilliant to assemble fellow superheroes.

Much of Col. Rench’s military life is a highly guarded secret. He is suspected to be a key figure in a number of world-shaping events and is even thought to have been involved in some way with the JFK  and MLKjr assassinations. He fiercely guards against any intrusion into his private life.
