Over a decade before the founding of The League, Peter Hoffman was a school P.E. teacher. He led the school football and basket ball teams to historic victories, with a blend of great coaching and ruthless discipline. The respected coach suffered a sudden fall from grace when a photo of him out for a night on the town with two hookers surfaced.

When the great Mr Brilliant was in his prime, fighting crime and battling danger at every turn, Hoffman assisted him with all of his filing and paperwork. He was one of only a select group of people who knew Mr Brilliants real identity, and often created diversions to draw the press away from the truth. It’s rumored that Hoffman deliberately let himself get caught with the hookers that led to his sacking, to draw the local media away from Foster. He also made a smashing cup of tea…….

When Mr Brilliant was asked to put together the League of Really Bad Superheroes he contacted Hoffman first of all. Hoffman had been living with Mr Brilliant for severalyears, as they both struggled with cough syrup addiction. Hoffman was offered a place in the league,  in a secretarial capacity. He agreed to join, if he could get a costume. Lazy, high on cough syrup and tired, Mr Brilliant agreed.

Hoffman brought with him an array of bats and sporting equipment from his former job at Renchwood High School, and adopted the name ‘Bats-Man’. Although he rarely ventures into the thick of battles, Bats-Man is a valuable member of the league.

Today Hoffman still struggles with his addiction to cough syrup, and smokes heavily. He is also more than a little partial to a potent home brewed gin he and Mr Brilliant began making at the height of their addiction. Hoffman supplements his income from the league through his cough syrup plant, given to him by his good friend Mr Brilliant in an effort to shake his own addiction.
